Not mail to or from Olomouc, but interesting social history. Given to me by Lucas, a young man who came on a visit. These are a few items of mail from a huge collection of mail that his great aunt Bozena had saved. Bozena married Cyril, a skilled carpenter, soon after the Nazi Occupation. Because of his skills he was relatively well treated sent to workcamps in Poland (including Auschwitz Birkenau) he was allowed home occaisionaly. Her unskilled sisters were sent to work in Germany, no leave for them and starvation rations. Cyril and Bozena were always afraid that she would suffer the same fate as her sisters, the frequent references to doctor's certificates in their correspondence reflects this fear.
